Coastal Navigation training

Parallel Ruler used for coastal navigation

This Coastal Navigation Level 1  distance learning training is so that you will be safe using a coastal navigation chart (paper, waterproof, or on your phone) to navigate Maine's rugged coast. This two session class meets two weeks apart for 2 hours each time using Zoom meetings.

This class is highly recommended for future Registered Maine Guides, sea kayakers, small boat operators, sailors, and those that want to be safe on the coastal tidal waters of Maine.

Price includes access to an online course to supplement your training and act as your textbook. You will need a pair of dividers, a parallel ruler, a chart of Casco Bay or Penobscot Bay, a printer, and ability to use a computer to Zoom.

If you have difficulty using your tools and doing the homework between the two sessions, your Master Maine Guide instructor, Alice, will work with you to eliminate those difficulties.

You may register for this course by visiting any of these adult education programs:  Merrymeeting Adult Education, Five Town CSD Adult & Community Education, Maranacook Adult Education, Boothbay Region Adult Education, Winthrop Adult Education, and Gardiner Adult Education.

If these dates don't work for you, please contact Alice to set up a private course.  alice@amaineguide.com
